Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
We run a deliberately lean site. No ads and no profiling analytics on our pages, and we never sell your data. Some links are affiliate links — if you click one, the retailer or affiliate network may set their own referral cookie on their site (not ours) to credit the sale; we never see your payment details. The only personal information we receive directly is what you choose to send us.
Who we are
Arufflednest (“we”, “us”) operates the website at arufflednest.com. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
What we collect, and why
- Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message. They're stored securely in our database so we can read and reply — we don't add you to any mailing list.
- Newsletter signups. If you subscribe, we store the email address (and name, if you give one) in our own database, and use it only to send you the newsletter. No third-party marketing platform receives it, and you can unsubscribe any time by emailing us.
- Basic server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) automatically records standard request data — IP address, browser type, and timestamps — to keep the site running and to protect it from abuse. These logs are short-lived and aren't used to build a profile of you.
- Anonymous article-view counts. We count how many times each article is viewed — a single number per article, with no IP address, no identifier, and no profile attached. To avoid double-counting, your browser remembers locally (localStorage) that you've recently viewed a page; that marker stays on your device.
- A site preference. Your light/dark mode choice is stored in your own browser (localStorage). It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
What we don't do
- No advertising networks, and no ad cookies on our pages.
- No Google Analytics or other profiling/analytics trackers.
- Affiliate links credit referrals through the retailer's or network's own cookie (set on their site when you click, not ours). We don't track you across the web, and we never sell or rent your data.
Who helps us run the site
We rely on a small number of service providers, only to deliver the site and your messages:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, and security (see Cloudflare's privacy policy). Cloudflare may set a strictly-necessary security cookie (such as
__cf_bm) to tell humans from bots; it isn't used for advertising or tracking. - An email provider — used to deliver contact-form messages to our inbox.
How long we keep it
We keep your messages only as long as we need to handle your inquiry, then delete them. Server logs are retained for a short period by Cloudflare for security and operations.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to its use. Just email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If our practices change, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
